What

A screening in support of "Palestine Cinema Days" Festival, co-hosted with Film Lab Palestine.

As international news outlets, world leaders, and major social media platforms are engaging in censorship and distorting the narrative, all while perpetuating the dehumanization of Palestinians and their enduring suffering, we extend our channels in support of “Palestine Cinema Days” Festival, which was forcibly canceled.

On the somber anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, observed on November 2nd, and in an effort to amplify Palestinian voices, we are screening The Tale of Three Jewels (1995) directed by Michel Khleifi at 7:00 p.m. in room 415 at BOK. The screening is free of charge. Masks are required.

Click here to RSVP. Early arrival recommended, seats available until we reach capacity.

Synopsis: One day, as he is bird-hunting, he becomes the hero of a modern-day tale: Yussef falls in love with Aida. To marry her, he must first find the three jewels missing from a family necklace brought from South America by the girl’s grandfather.

Presenting partners: Multitude Films, cinéSPEAK, Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival, and Philadelphia Latino Arts & Film Festival.
