Ardida is an experimental animation that combines 2D, 3D and rotoscopy from a satiric lens to critique neocolonialism, gender violence and the extractivist structure within capitalism from an antiracist perspective.

Director

Mir Morales Rosales is an animator and artist from Mexico City and periphery. She is an Experimental Animation MFA candidate and Fulbright scholar at CalArts, where she also works as Graduate and Teaching Assistant. Women in Animation awarded her Honorable Mention in 2023, and she is listed in the “First Registry of Mexican, Mexican American, and Chicana artists in Los Angeles.” She holds a BFA in Design from UNAM and participated in an exchange with UCSD. A member of Brillantinas MUAC UNAM, she has exhibited internationally and was featured in The Los Angeles Times. Her short film “Ardida” critiques neo-colonialism.
