Over the Wall is an immersive film following Brehanna Daniels, the first Black woman pit crew member and tire changer in NASCAR, as she works her way back from injury to participate in the Daytona 500, the biggest race in the sport. Director
Krystal Tingle is a Jamaican American writer, director, and producer whose work honors and reflects the rich complexities of Black experiences by exploring themes of joy, faith, community. Krystal’s creative highlights include Hulu’s The 1619 Project, Flavor Unit and Tribeca Studios, Queen Collective, Soledad O’Brien’s Disrupt & Dismantle series for BET, and Spit on the Broom, winner, Best Experimental Short, New Orleans Film Festival. Most recently, Krystal directed and produced Over the Wall, a short documentary film for Firelight Films, which premiered at the 2023 Tribeca Film Festival. She is currently in development on her feature documentary Oh Happy Day!, which has received early support from Docs in Progress and Women in Film and Video.
