Leo Brooks (@l.brks) is a Philadelphia-born artist and graphic designer whose work favors the conceptual and experimental. He began his time at Blackstar as a screening intern after earning an associate’s degree from Parsons School of Design and working professionally in New York at HVA Studio and the Jewish Museum (NY). In 2018, as part of NYCxDesign, he co-organized BlackxDesign a two-day event for millennial designers of color to exhibit their work and discuss what it means to be a designer of color. In the fall of 2024 he co-founded 5U Space, a gallery project exhibiting the work of emerging artists. Leo earned his bachelor’s degree from The Mecca, Howard University (D.C).
