In anticipation of this year’s festival, we’re proud to co-present Monsoon Wedding (2001), the classic film directed by 2022 Luminary Award recipient Mira Nair. The film follows “a stressed father, a bride-to-be with a secret, a smitten event planner, and relatives from around the world create much ado about the preparations for an arranged marriage in India.” Join us for the screening this Friday, June 10th at 7pm ET, at the Lightbox Film Center in Philadelphia. Then celebrate with us in August as we present Mira with her award during the 2022 BlackStar Film Festival.
