Making an Immersive Media Project

presented by Carla LynDale Bishop

A photo of an interview recording. Two men are seated on a bench next to a basketball court. It appears that they are being interviewed. A man is standing next to them with a boom mic. There is a digital camera to the right of them.

This workshop walks through the process of creating immersive media projects. Participants will learn the steps from research and development, UX/UI design, prototyping and testing all the way to the finished project. They will sample the immersive project, Mapping Blackness, which chronicles the history of black communities using Google’s Geospatial Creator in Unity to create Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality experiences. There will also be demonstrations of various AR/VR applications. At the end, participants will be able to create their own sample immersive experience. Bring your ideas and questions. Mobile devices and laptops are encouraged.
