“You could animate that”

Workshop presented by Mir Rosales

How many frames does it take to make an animation and who says so? In this workshop we will experiment with image sequences and create a collaborative animation to try to answer this question and inquire on our own practices.

This workshop is intended to familiarize filmmakers with basic animation techniques such as replacement animation as well as creating DIY setups for down-shooting animations to incorporate in their own productions.

Participants will be asked ahead of time to either bring material objects (2 minimum) to develop an idea for an image sequence or a printed sequence of images (4 minimum – 12 maximum) that we will intervene with experimental materials.
