Heidi Saman

Heidi Saman is the Editor-in-Chief of Seen as well as the Program Director for BlackStar Projects. She was named one of Filmmaker Magazine’s 25 New Faces to Watch. Her first feature film, Namour, was acquired by Ava DuVernay’s ARRAY, and won the LA Muse Jury Award at the 2016 Los Angeles Film Festival. In 2008, Saman’s short film The Maid (il Shaghala) premiered in competition at the Cannes Film Festival. She is a 2016-2018 Pew Fellow in the Arts and she's directed episodes of Queen Sugar and Two Sentence Horror Stories. Heidi was a longtime producer for National Public Radio’s Fresh Air with Terry Gross.
